Gunmen attack Independence Day on the outskirts of Chicago, USA. Nine people were killed by the assassins. According to police sources, at least 57 people were injured in the shooting.

According to Chicago police sources, the assassins fired at various places in Chicago for about eight hours. The gunman killed a 24-year-old woman on South Wentworth Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. Three people were also shot dead by gunmen near the Grand Crossing. Those injured in the shooting have been admitted to a local hospital.

Last year, 19 people were killed in gunfire during the US Independence Day week. At least 100 people were injured.

Officials told a news conference that six people were killed and 24 were taken to hospital and a rifle was recovered from the scene.

“Law enforcement is searching for the suspect; evidence of a firearm has been recovered,” Highland Park City said on its website. “Many law enforcement officers are responding and securing a fence around Downtown Highland Park.”

Gun violence erupted on May 24 after 19 school children and two teachers were killed at an elementary school in Uvalade, Texas, and 10 people were killed at a grocery store on May 14.
