According to the commission, the number of vacancies will increase many times this time. In the last five years, the number of retirees from colleges has been very low. According to the West Bengal College Service Commission, the number of retirees has dropped dramatically in the last five years due to the increase in the retirement age of state professors. According to the officials of the commission, the number of retirees in 2022 is very high. The number of vacancies will increase manifold with retirement.

The College Service Commission already has more than 500 vacancies. It will be associated with a few thousand vacancies. In that case, the officials of the commission are of the opinion that the vacancy may exceed 5,000. The highest number of applications was received in important subjects like Geography, Chemistry, Bengali-English. In that case, like the current Corona situation, it will take a lot of time to complete the interview process, according to the commission officials. By the way, keeping in mind that corona infection is on the rise, this time the College Service Commission is also making several changes in the interview process. More than 40 people are not being called for interviews on every subject every day. Besides, applicants for more than two subjects will not be called for an interview on the same day. The College Service Commission is starting the interview process through these two subjects from January 17 in Bengali and English.

Earlier, the commission used to conduct interviews on five to six subjects on the same day. But due to the current Corona situation, this change has been made in the interview process, according to the commission officials. In that case, the whole process could take up to a year to complete.
