Saayoni Ghosh came to the media after getting bail in Tripura and said that she was physically harassed by the Tripura police. Sayani was taken to Agartala court around 5:15 pm on Monday. According to court sources, the police had asked the court to get Saayoni in their custody for two days. But after the hearing, the judge dismissed the petition. The Tripura police had charged Saayoni with attempt to murder. According to the police statement, Saayoni’s car hit a pedestrian. Saayoni was also accused of making derogatory remarks about the Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb. Saini Ghosh was arrested after a long interrogation at the police station. In protest of the incident, the TMC delegation held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the capital Delhi on the situation in Tripura. Fifteen Trinamool MPs held a meeting with the Home Minister for about half an hour from 4 pm on Monday.
