Mamata Banerjee Has Announced To Set Up An Agricultural Hub In Singur

Mamata Banerjee

Everyone knows about the Singur-Nandigram movement.  The then Leader of the Opposition Mamata Banerjee strongly protested against the creation of industries by destroying agricultural land.  In 2011, Mamata Banerjee defeated the CPIM government and seized the throne of Bengal.

After many attempts, the Tata group was finally forced to close down the Nano factory and leave Bengal.  Leftist supporters, however, still think that Mamata Banerjee has done the biggest damage to the state by not having a factory in Singur.

Later, the incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had to face criticism over the Singur incident.  Assembly elections are ahead.  In this situation, the Chief Minister tried to make her image clear in front of the people of Singur and West Bengal.  Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Singur and spread mustard seeds.

With the election in mind, this time she has decided to build an agricultural hub on about 10 acres of land in Singur.  She is taking this initiative for the development and employment of the local people.

She said, “An agricultural hub will be set up on 10 acres of land in Singur.”  Local people will benefit from this project.  Earlier, the Chief Minister had planned for the development of Singur, saying that Singur could have agriculture on one side and industrialization along the highway on the other.  There is an agro-industrial park under processing here.  Soon work will be done on agro-processing agricultural products.  Many people will get jobs.
