Former President Pranab Mukherjee has finally given up his life-journey following a 21-day battle with multiple ailments. He was 84 years old at the time of his death. The Center has declared seven days of state mourning over the death of the former president.
On August 9, Pranab Mukherjee fell in the bathroom and got a head injury. He was later admitted to the Containment Army Hospital in Delhi. When the corona is tested, a positive report comes. He also warned those who came in contact with him by reporting on Twitter. Then he underwent surgery on his head. Pranab Mukherjee has been in a coma ever since.
His son Abhijit Mukherjee was the first person to break the news of his death.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences by tweeting. He wrote, “India grieves the passing away of Bharat Ratna Shri Pranab Mukherjee.”

In his long political life, Pranab Mukherjee was the 12th President of the country (2012-2017) besides handling important ministries like finance, foreign affairs and defense. In 2019, Pranab Mukherjee was awarded the Bharat Ratna.
