India’s World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Sing Dhoni has retired from international cricket on India’s Independence Day, much to the surprise of all cricket fans. To millions of Indians, Dhoni means a fairy tale, an emotition.

Dhoni is one of the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket. He led India to the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup, the 2011 Fifty Overs World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. The most important, memorable and historic moment of Indian cricket lovers passed in 2011 when Kulsekra’s ball touched the middle of the bat and flew to the shores of the Arabian Sea along with Ravi Shastri’s timeless dialogue, “Dhoni finishes off in style”.

He is the captain of India in 200 matches wearing a blue jersey, only Ricky Ponting and Stephen Fleming are ahead in terms of the world. He appeared total 331 matches as India’s captain in all formats. Which is the record of all time. Dhoni appeared six times as Indian captain in T20 World Cup which is also a record.
