Endometriosis: Many women experience severe lower abdominal pain during menstruation. Women of any age can suffer from this problem. However, many people do not know the cause of it. Ignorance, prejudice, social fear, lack of awareness delay the identification of the source of pain. Endometriosis can cause lower abdominal pain during menstruation. About 19 crore women around the world are suffering from this problem.

What is endometriosis?

The endometrium is the inner lining of the uterus (endometriosis meaning). The uterus undergoes many changes from puberty to childbirth. Menstruation begins when endometrial tissue falls off during the menstrual cycle. During menstruation, these tissues rupture and bleed. This causes severe pain in the lower abdomen. As a result of bleeding, blood clots form in the ovaries. This is called a chocolate cyst. Women over 30 to 45 years of age. In addition, women who have not had a child delayed their first child, have a congenital defect in the uterus, or have a family history of the disease, may be affected by endometriosis. Endometriosis is rarely seen before the onset of menstruation. The symptoms of endometriosis depend on which part of the body the endometrial tissue has formed.

Treatment of endometriosis: –

Endometriosis is treated in three ways

1) Taking painkillers.

2) Hormone therapy. It helps to reduce lower abdominal pain, regularize the menstrual cycle and reduce bleeding.

3) Abnormal endometrial tissue is removed through surgery. If the patient’s physical condition is severe, the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes are removed by surgery.
