Punjab Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann is set to start a new family after divorcing his first wife.

Mann will get married at the Chief Minister’s residence in Chandigarh on Thursday. Bride Gurpreet Kaur is a doctor at Bhagwant Mann’s former Lok Sabha constituency Sangrur. According to sources close to Manal, the ceremony will be attended by a handful of guests and family members, including Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister. The former singer and comedian will personally bear all the expenses of the wedding.

The 48-year-old’s first marriage broke up about six years ago. The first-party wife and two children now live in the United States. According to sources, after winning the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Sangrur, Mann decided to quit his job and go into politics for good. At that time his then wife objected. They broke up because of him.

According to sources, Bhagwant Mann’s mother has fixed the bride. He was very happy to see Dr. Gurpreet Kaur. After that, she fell behind in persuading her son to marry her. Bhagwant Mann’s mother and sister wanted him to remarry. And the bridegroom of this marriage also said that they will fix it, or he got the word from Bhagwant Mann.

Some prominent leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party are expected to attend the private wedding. Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal is also expected to be present. He is also said to have blessed the newlyweds.

Who is Gurpreet Kaur?


Gurpreet Kaur is 32 years old. Mrs. Kaur’s family is from Pehoa in Kurukshetra district. His father Inderjit Singh is a farmer. His mother Raj Kaur is a housewife.
His two sisters live abroad. Sources close to Mr Mann said they have been in a relationship with his family for years.
Her uncle, Gurinder Jeet, told NDTV that Gurpreet was always good at studying. One of her neighbors in Pehowa, Vanita Bahal, told reporters that Mr. Kaur was a kind, caring and very intelligent young woman.


He studied at Maharshi Markandeshwar Medical College in Maulana, Haryana, where he was a gold medalist, his uncle said.
Sources said that Mrs. Kaur helped Bhagwant Mann during her campaign for the Punjab Assembly elections.
