Fans’ one-time favorite James Bond said goodbye in his sleep.  According to Sean Connery’s family, the Scottish actor has been ill for some time.  At the time of his death, Sean was in the Bahamas.  He died there at the age of 90.




Sean Connery was first seen in the role of James Bond, a character created by British journalist and novelist Ian Fleming.  ‘Doctor No’, ‘You Only Live Twice’, ‘Diamonds Are Forever’, ‘Never Say Never Again’ — Sir Sean brought Bond to life in one film after another.  In the sixties of the last century, the character of screen Bond at one time brought tremendous success in his career.  From 1962 to ’83, Sean Connery appeared in seven consecutive Bond films.  He is the best ‘007’ judging by the fans of that time.




Leaving Bond’s heroic image, Sean Connery has begun to break himself on screen.  He was seen as an Irish cop under the direction of Brian de Palmer with Robert De Niro, Kevin Costner, and Andy Garcia.  At the Oscars, he won Best Supporting Actor for the crime film The Untouchables.  After that he got respect one after another.  ‘Marni’, ‘Murder on the Orient Express’, ‘The Man Who Would Be King’, ‘A Bridge to Far’, ‘Finding Forrester’ — he broke his own likeness and brought one character after another to life.




In addition to the Academy Awards throughout his life, Sir Shawn Connery has received 2 BAFTA and 3 Golden Globe Awards.
