Rashmika Mandanna: Rashmika Mandanna expressed her strong disapproval of a widely circulated deepfake video on Monday. This video featured her face being digitally manipulated and placed onto another woman’s body. She also called for measures to be taken against the individuals responsible for creating this video.
The original video featured British-Indian social media influencer Zara Patel wearing a black workout onesie inside an elevator. The viral version of the video used artificial intelligence to alter Zara’s appearance to make her resemble Rashmika.
Rashmika Mandanna shared her emotions on her Instagram story, expressing, “I’m deeply saddened to address the deepfake video that’s circulating online, a situation that is truly disturbing, not only for me but for anyone who could be vulnerable to the misuse of technology.”
Rashmika also mentioned that if she hadn’t been an actor but rather a schoolgirl, the same incident could have been extremely traumatizing for her.
🚨 There is an urgent need for a legal and regulatory framework to deal with deepfake in India.

You might have seen this viral video of actress Rashmika Mandanna on Instagram. But wait, this is a deepfake video of Zara Patel.
This thread contains the actual video. (1/3) pic.twitter.com/SidP1Xa4sT
She wrote, “Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am grateful for my family, friends, and well-wishers who provide me with protection and support. However, if this had happened to me when I was in school or college, I can’t even imagine how I would have coped with it. We need to address this issue as a community and act urgently to prevent more people from falling victim to identity theft.”
On the professional front, Rashmika is set to appear in the film “Animal,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor. She also has projects like “The Girlfriend,” “Rainbow,” and “Pushpa: The Rule” alongside Allu Arjun in her upcoming work.
